Do you think the media will keep racism going as much as possible?

I have been reading posts about the chance of Obama getting assassinated. As most of us know there are many attempts on the lives of presidents that the American People never hear about. Do you think that the media may report on more of these attempts or interrupted plans to cause harm to this particular president because of his race? I think the media already contributes to alot of the social tension in our society and this will be the perfect opportunity to keep the tension going.
