The Twitter world is filled with unusual words and abbreviations that a novice user may be unfamiliar with. Study the list below to learn the basic Twitter terms you need to know to use the site.

Tweet - a 140-character message posted to a Twitter user's page.

Follow - to add another Twitter user as a "friend" or "connection." When you follow another Twitter-user, his or her posts will appear on your homepage.
Follower - a person who is "following" your Tweets on Twitter.
